Handmade, Functional Pottery with a Steampunk Flair
Steampunk:
Steam-powered machinery based in the 19th-century Victorian era
Hi, and welcome to Gears of Clay!

I'm Erin Marie Coppinger, and my journey with ceramics began in 2012 at the Community College of Rhode Island. What started as a hobby quickly became a deep passion, one that I love sharing with others through my unique creations. Every piece I make is crafted with care and creativity, and I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to share my work with wonderful supporters like you!

I specialize in creating functional pottery pieces, from bowls and plates to unique jewelry holders. But if you take a look around my shop, you'll notice that I have a particular love for making mugs—especially those with a steampunk twist. Bringing the imaginative, intricate world of steampunk to life through my pottery is my favorite way to create, and I'm excited to share these whimsical creations with you.

Thank you for being a part of this journey and supporting my creative dreams!

Here are some of the items available for purchase in my Etsy shop!

My process: I make all my pottery with stoneware clay. Each piece is hand thrown on the potter's wheel, additional pieces are hand-built. Then it is bisqued, hand glazed, and finally high-fired in a gas kiln at 2388 F.

All these pieces are: dishwasher and microwave safe, made with food safe glazes, and have more than one available.
